Stormy Weather Fun

20160928_113437We’re well into Autumn. Here in the Pacific Northwest, today’s weather forecast calls for another nine days of rain. We’re also experiencing the tail end of a Pacific typhoon this weekend. High wind warnings are in effect. This morning I noticed that a neighborhood street that had boasted beautiful gold trees just a few days ago is now stark and bare. That was quick! And after today’s wind storm I imagine the rest of the trees in town will be stripped of their autumn finery as well.

Most of the time I don’t mind the wind and rain. I work indoors and enjoy indoor activities like reading, cooking, and painting. I recently joined a local Facebook group of people who are painting common, everyday rocks and hiding them for others to find. It’s a fun, restful activity that takes my mind off the election in the evenings. Here are a few of the rocks I’ve recently done.20160911_115439

What are your favorite rainy weather activities? Do you bake? Sew? Watch old movies?

Whatever you’re up to this autumny Saturday, I hope you’re enjoying yourself. Make every minute count.
