You Are Gorgeous!

You Are GorgeousI recently had to go clothes shopping. That’s right, I said “had to”. Whatever gene the majority of women got that makes them love to shop for clothes is apparently missing in my DNA makeup. This was true even when I was a perfect size eight. It’s even more true now that single digit sizes are a dream of the past. But I still need to be dressed when I leave the house, so yes, I recently found myself shopping for a new pair of slacks.

I’m a business owner; in our small town everyday dress is business casual, so that’s the section of the store I headed for. I found the classic black pants racks. I grabbed three pair to try on, did my thing in the dressing room, picked the pair that fit best and was most comfortable (Lee Stretch), and got the hell out of Dodge. Mission accomplished.

It was not until the next morning, as I pulled the pants on, that I noticed the words printed in silver on the inside of the waistband. “You are Gorgeous”. What? Me? In my giant, black, stretchy pants? Could such a thing be true? What a concept!

What a marketing concept! Way to go Lee Stretch! But, well, why not? Why not just embrace the idea? It gives me a positive little kick every time I see those words. And it pretty much sews up my customer loyalty for the next twenty years. Thanks, Lee. You’re pretty gorgeous too.

Have a great week everyone, and as always, thanks for stopping by.
