Two Wonderful Books

by Nola on January 23, 2015

Hey everyone. Hope your week was a great one. Mine was. For one main reason: two of my very favorite authors had new releases this week, and I took some time off from working on my own stories to dive into theirs. These ladies did not disappoint me. You will want to find these two books and read them post haste.

Love me sweetFirst, I scarfed down Tracy Brogan’s Love Me Sweet. It’s a funny and sweet romantic adventure story. I never get tired of Tracy’s humor; she has the rare talent for writing great comedy while drawing you in emotionally at the same time. I loved this book. And be sure and read her other Bell Harbor books while you’re at it.

Now I’m reading Sarah Addison Allen’s First Frost. Several years agoI had given up on my own first frostdreams of being an author, when I happened to pick up Sarah’s first book, Garden Spells. It was so wonderful and magical that it inspired me to try writing again. I’m happy to say that First Frost takes up the story of the Waverly sisters we met in Garden Spells. I’m only a little way into the book, and already I’m in that push me/pull me place of wanting to devour it in one sitting and never wanting it to end — at the same time. Dedicated readers will know what I mean.

I’m about half way through writing my short story — A Hint of Heaven — which I’ll be submitting to Beachwalk Press next month for inclusion (I hope) in an upcoming anthology. I’ll be posting some unedited snippets in my next post. Have a wonderful weekend!
