Winding Down: 100 Happy Days

by Nola on September 30, 2014

SunnysSecondChance_Medium-200x300Back in early July I decided to participate in the 100 Happy Days Project. You can read my original post from July 2nd here. Basically, the project encourages one to look for something positive and uplifting every day, take a photo of it, and post about it on Facebook or Twitter. Today is day 91. I’ve missed posting on four of those 91 days.

As I near the completion, I find I’m really looking forward to winding down this project. Here’s why: I already tend to be a very positive person and to make a point of observing and focusing on those things that make me feel good. As a long time student of the Law of Attraction, I already know that we create our reality with our thoughts and our focus. Happy in = happy out. The 100 Happy Days Project detracts from this a little by requiring that one take a photo of the thing that makes one happy. I found myself judging too often. Does this make me happy in a way that can be captured in a photo? Does this make me happy in a way that can be explained in a post? Will other people be able to identify? Pretty soon I found the process had gotten too mechanical, something I HAD to do, rather than something that flowed naturally from my heart. I should not have to explain or quantify what makes me happy. No one should.

I will finish up the last nine days, because I believe that keeping my word is imperative. I did sign an agreement to complete the project. I will try to recapture some of the enthusiasm I had on the first day or two. If you tend to be a negative person, I recommend you take on this project. If you are already happy and focused on the good stuff, this might not be your cup of tea.

In other news, the sequel to Sunny’s Second Chance, titled Sunny’s Hope, is currently in production at Beachwalk Press. Release date will be December 15th, just in time for Christmas. I’m pretty pumped to bring you the rest of Sunny and Ben’s love story. If you were one of my readers who thought the first story ended too soon, I hope you will check out Sunny’s Hope.

Have a great week!
