Out my Writing Window – Sept. 18, 2013

Everfield Main StreetHi Readers! This week the “view” from my writing window is Main Street of Everfield, Washington, the mythical town where my Christmas anthology story – A Home for my Heart – takes place. When I chose this stock image of small town America to use in designing my website, I was just beginning to build the “world” of Everfield, with plans to write a series of stories someday. I’m so excited that A Home for my Heart will be published this year as the introduction to that series. I’m hoping you all will really like Jonathan and Merridee and root for them to find their own happily-ever-after ending. Look for their story in the Candlelight and Kisses anthology that releases November 11th at Amazon.

I’m also writing a second, steamier Christmas story under my pen name. Last night the funniest thing happened. I had a dream that the couples from both my stories got together and were flirting with each other. Yikes! On the one hand, I took it as a great sign that the characters were real enough in my mind that they had populated my sub-conscious. On the other hand, whose idea was it for them to be so inappropriate? LOL. It has always fascinated me that the characters I create seem to have minds of their own.

There is a definite nip in the air this week. On my drive to work this morning, I noticed that a few of the maples were beginning to turn. I love this time of year, but it also marks the ending of things. Nature’s predictable cycle keeps rolling forward. Before we know it, we’ll be bundled in coats and mittens. So enjoy the relative balminess of next few weeks! And thanks for stopping by. Have a great week.
