I recently learned about writing “sprints”. Sprints are where two or more writers “meet” in a chat room and write like crazy. At a designated time, everyone takes a break and chats a bit, then it’s back to writing again. One of my crit partners and I tried this this morning, and it worked great. We both accomplished quite a bit in the two hours we were “connected”, and the process did not feel as lonely as writing often feels. We agreed we will incorporate this writing strategy more frequently into our routines.

No one but another writer can really understand what it is like to create a world from nothing, and to people it with characters who have conflicts and hopes and emotions. It’s good to have a buddy or two who can truly share your dreams. Sprinting makes it even more personal. Great idea!

Agreed! I’m now a big fan of writing sprints!
